History of the School
2003
Homeschooling
The first impulse for establishing the first primary school for gifted children in the Czech Republic was the personal experience of Dr. Ing. Stanislav Svoboda and his son David in the first year of a state school: the absence of an individual approach, emphasis on shortcomings, and a disregard for the child's talents. David was enrolled in experimental homeschooling at that time, and started learning at home with his teacher.
2003
Establishment of the School for Children civic association
Dr. Ing. Stanislav Svoboda and other parents, psychologists and educational specialists participated in establishing the School for Children Association in order to build a primary school to educate gifted girls and boys based on their individual abilities and skills.
2004
Start of a test operation of the school
The School for Children Association initiated the foundation of the Cesta k úspěchu School, started the test operation of the school and attempted to include the school in the network of schools in the Czech Republic. However, the attitude of the then leadership of the Ministry of Education was clearly negative. The school for gifted children was an undesirable 'elitism' for the Ministry.
2007
Start of a regular operation of the Cesta k úspěchu School
After three years of effort, the Cesta k úspěchu School was registered in the network of schools in the Czech Republic by the Ministry of Education and started a regular operation in leased premises of the Petřiny-Jih school in September 2007.
2011
Moving to Bělohorská 103
The Cesta k úspěchu School acquired Bělohorská the 103 building for a long-term lease.
2016
Zero year
The Cesta k úspěchu School extended its offer with a zero year for children aged 4 to 6 who are disintertested in kindergartens and need a more sophisticated educational programme than a regular kindergarten may offer.
Visit of Andrew Feustel, NASA astronaut
We had the pleasure of welcoming NASA astronaut, Andrew Feustel, and his wife, Indira, to Cesta k úspěchu. Andrew fielded great questions from our students and described what it was like to fly and work in space during his visit. It was an incredible event and one that we are truly grateful for!
2020
Opening of the 6th grade of elementary school
The Cesta k úspěchu school opens the second stage of primary school. The school thus caters to the great interest of pupils and their parents.
